FEAR OF A PUNK PLANET COMIC BOOK TO DEBUT AT STOCKTONCON

It seems it’s officially “Fear Of A Punk Planet” day at Kung Fu Records! Not only have we reissued the classic album by The Vandals on purple vinyl (out now! plug, plug!), but the limited run first edition “Red Cover” FEAR OF A PUNK PLANET comic books have arrived hot off the presses!

Written by Joe Escalante of The Vandals and illustrated by Dominic Davi of Tsunami Bomb, this tale from two bassists is the first release on Joe Escalante’s new Repent House Comics label and distributed by Kung Fu Records. The story is based on the Digital Entertainment Network series created by Joe Escalante back in 1998 (you can pick up the first three episodes on DVD in our store HERE), it’s a 36 page adventure taking place in the mid-nineties where four very different punk kids must band together to save their town’s only all ages venue! The story is like The Archies meets Clerks meets Teen Titans Go and is essentially a love letter to the punk scene!

If you want to get a jump on getting a copy, artist Dominic Davi will have a table at this weekend’s Stocktoncon in Stockton, CA where he’ll be selling the first copies of the book! You’ll be able to find him on both Saturday, Aug. 8th and Sunday, Aug. 9th in the Artist’s Alley at table AA94 as “The Dinosaur Factory”! For more details on the 2 day comic convention, head over to http://stocktoncon.com/ !

Can’t make it to Stockton by this weekend? No worries, we’ll have some of the VERY limited first edition “Red Covers” available online in our store this next week! Keep an eye on the site and on our facebook for when they go up!
